Pierre Mornet lives and works in Paris. Born in 1972, he studied graphic design at ESAC, and presented his first exhibition in 1994. Focusing his career upon illustration, he has published four children’s books and designed many book covers. He works in acrylic and oils frequently employing an imagery of frail women and girls. There are elements of “classicism”, Balthus, Victorian illustration, Magic Realism, and art deco to his paintings. His work regularly appears in press and advertising, and he is frequently exhibited in art galleries with an upcoming solo exhibition this year. Since 2009, Mornet has been the poster designer for the Lille Opera House. He is the author and illustrator of a new book, “L'anniversaire” to be published later this month.
